马来西亚云顶集团在美国佛州下了重重的一注。云顶计划在迈阿密市兴建世界最大的赌场，面积比“赌城”拉斯维加斯6大赌场加起来还要大，不过云顶想落实大计，要先跟要力保形象的迪士尼角力。
云顶计划耗资38亿美元（约120亿令吉）兴建的迈阿密名胜世界（Resorts World Miami），占地5.6公顷，包括4座酒店，提供5200个房间和1000个住宅单位、一个会议中心、商场、有12个奥运标准泳池大的人工湖、50间餐厅酒吧和2间赌场。
120亿打造 创10万职位
2间赌场总面积80万平方尺，比现时世界最大澳门威尼斯人酒店的赌场，还大了47%，更比拉斯维加斯梦幻金殿、威尼斯人、美高梅、百乐宫、永利和凯撒皇宫的赌场加起来都大，单是老虎机就有8500架。
迈阿密要做美国新赌城，要先修法，佛州现行法例只准原住民地区经营小型赌场，州议员上周提出放宽赌禁的法案，如通过将可建3个大型赌场度假区。
云顶称迈阿密名胜世界会为佛州创造10万个职位，并带来每年540万旅客和6亿美元（约20亿令吉）税收，对于深受楼市崩溃打击、失业率达10.6%、预算赤字达15亿美元（约50亿令吉）的佛州来说，无疑非常吸引，不少政客都支持。
不过佛州向来以迪士尼乐园为旅游王牌，开大型赌场，迪士尼大力反对，指会损害佛州以主题公园为主、老少咸宜的旅游业形象。佛州总商会也加入反对阵营，指州 政府正想吸引不同产业进驻，扩大赌业只会令州内经济像吸毒般依赖赌业。面对正反阵营拉锯，保守派共和党州长斯科特至今大都保持中立。

Gaming officials predict it will be among the most popular games at the city’s first racino, which will throw opens its doors at 1 p.m.
The machines are a flashy addition to the state-of-the-art facility, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. every day.
Once a bettor sits down, theme music from the popular HBO series blares from the machine.

New York’s first casino, Resorts World Casino, is opening this weekend. And it’s all thanks to robot dealers, who help the business get around New York’s troublesome ban on non-electronic gambling.
The casino is connected to the Aqueduct racetrack in South Ozone Park, Queens, and this is key to its existence because New York state law allows electronic gambling at racetracks. So the casino is fully automated. It opens in just a few hours and is expected to be a big success among the casino-starved denizens of the city.
Not everyone is thrilled, though. Some people worry that the casino could become a magnet for undesirable behaviour. There’s no real reason to think that, though, and anyway, if you’re worried about undesirable behaviour, it might be best to not live in New York. Or the world.
Experiencing Las Vegas, in Queens
The new casino has 5,000 video terminals and electronic table games, but, in accordance with the law, no human dealers.
But the casino’s main innovation is that it is reachable by subway from the real Times Square.
It is New York City’s first casino — or racino, because it is connected to the Aqueduct racetrack in South Ozone Park, Queens — featuring 5,000 video gambling terminals and electronic table games, including craps and a popular Asian dice game known as sic bo; restaurants like Chinese dim sum and the Stage Deli; and 6,500 parking spots.
The casino, which was approved by the Legislature in 2001 only to be delayed by false starts and influence peddling, has already stirred deep divisions. Some critics say it comes perilously close to breaching constitutional limits on gambling, while others predict it will prompt a deluge of social ills, like divorce, gambling addiction or suicide.
But supporters, including the owners of the casino and legislators in Albany, say that casino gambling has been available in the metropolitan area for years, and that this casino will help keep jobs and some of that revenue in New York.
“This is an opportunity for New Yorkers to have a Vegas-like experience without having to leave the city,” said Michael Speller, the president of Resorts World Casino New York City, who started off as a blackjack dealer in his native London when he was 18.
Resorts World, owned by Genting New York, a subsidiary of the largest gambling company in England and Southeast Asia, says the casino will generate up to $1.5 million a day for the state. Also in the works are a climate-controlled bridge to the nearby Aqueduct North Conduit Avenue A train subway station and a shuttle to Kennedy International Airport.
The doors will open at 1 p.m. on Friday, and at 8 a.m. beginning Saturday. Closing time is 4 a.m. seven days a week.
Only the ground-floor portion of the complex, called the Times Square Casino, will be open on Friday. The more elegant Fifth Avenue Casino, which will open on the second floor in December, will feature the upmarket RW Prime Steakhouse, fine Chinese cuisine and an expansive outdoor terrace where diners can overlook the track where Secretariat was paraded shortly before his retirement and where Pope John Paul II said Mass in front of 75,000 people.
Another portion of the second floor is set aside for the Crockfords Casino, named after the upscale London casino also owned by Genting, designed for high-rollers and would-be Donald Trumps who will have access through a private entrance, after being delivered to Aqueduct in Champagne-stocked limousines.
The third floor, called Central Park, will have 130,000 square feet, making it the largest event space in Queens and a place for newlyweds craving a casino reception.
In recent weeks, 1,400 construction workers have been working 20 hours a day in two shifts to ensure that the casino will be ready by Friday. One week ago, the front sign said, “RESORTS WORLD ASINO NEW Y K CITY,” but the missing letters were in place by Monday.
New York authorized gambling at Aqueduct and eight other racetracks in 2001, after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center shook the state’s economy. But while the other tracks were able to install video slot machines, which now generate more than $600 million a year in revenue sharing for the state, deals for Aqueduct, considered the most profitable franchise, fell through. Last year, the state inspector general found that State Senate leaders had manipulated the process to favor a politically connected group from Queens.
After another round of bids, Genting won by offering the state a $380 million upfront fee, which it has paid.

速伯瑪冀擴充計劃推高業績20%
速伯瑪（SUPERMX，7106，主板工業股）冀望透過未來5年擴充計劃，可按年取得15至20%業績成長；同時，該公司相信，2011財政年全年淨利仍能達到1億令吉至1億2000萬令吉的目標。
速伯瑪執行主席兼董事經理丹斯里鄭金森指出，基於該領域需求強穩，該公司認為按年可取得15至20%營收成長。
他稱，「歐洲債務危機並未影響該領域需求，同時需求甚至不減反增，全球需求或將按年增長8%至12%。」

欧盟峰会救市方案明日出炉 闭门研讨欧盟三大难题
欧盟领导人23日在比利时首都布鲁塞尔举行峰会，议题之一就是为应对欧债危机寻求全面的解决方案。不过，当天的峰会并未就此议题拿出具体成果。德法领导人在会后均表示，将力争在26日达成一个可以稳定市场情绪的解决方案。为实现这一目标，欧洲领导人们需要解决三大难题。

膠價大跌手套股起舞
隨著樹膠現貨與期貨價格今日大幅下滑，國際樹膠聯盟（International Rubber Consortium Ltd.）表示，泰國、印尼與大馬這三大生產國將持續監督，並採取相應措施限制價格下滑。
同時，在樹膠價格今日大幅下挫下，國內手套股項卻受到該消息的激勵，紛紛在午盤走高，當中十大上升榜中共有4只手套相關類股。
截至今日尾盤，東京期貨交易所的樹膠期貨價格大跌6.63%，至每公斤281.5日圓，週三閉市為301.5日圓。同時，大馬樹膠局官方膠乳價格則下滑1.96%，至每公斤799仙，並創下自去年11月3日以來的新低水平。
因此，國際樹膠聯盟首席秘書長塔瓦羅里特（YiumTavarolit）表示，該聯盟的三大生產國已開始對今日的價格下滑進行洽談，並在情況較為穩定時，作出相關的應對措施。
「無論如何，由於市場的供應與需求基本面維持不變，樹膠價格的最低售價，仍然維持在每公斤120泰銖。」塔瓦羅里特今日接受《彭博社》的電訪時表示。

紐約賭場28日開張‧雲頂大馬無懼歐美衰退
雲頂大馬（GENM，4715，主板貿服組）的紐約名勝世界賭場（RWNY）即將開張，可望進一步提振該集團的歐美業務營收，分析員認為，即使歐美經濟可能衰退，雲頂大馬在估值廉宜與國內客戶強力支撐下抗跌力仍強穩。
分析員正面看待紐約賭場開張，大馬研究預見可在2012財政年取得高達7億3千萬美元（約22億8千103萬8千300令吉）的總博彩營業額，包括停車與餐館營業額，總營業額或達管理層目標8億美元（約24億9千976萬8千令吉）。
大馬研究估計，紐約賭場佔雲頂大馬2011與2012財政年營運盈利各0.4與7.8%。
野村研究表示，即使紐約賭場可能展延開張，但因視頻角子機數量大，而上調雲頂大馬2011與2012財政年淨利，各4.5%與6.7%，至13億9千萬與15億7千800萬令吉。
“雲頂博彩業務過去表現穩健，除2003年沙斯（SARS）期間面臨遊客量急挫，2001與2008年經濟衰退時期都順利逃過一劫，歸功於國內客戶龐大的穩健屬性，因國內客戶在經濟低迷時傾向國內旅遊。”
僑豐研究也提到，市場盈利預測未反映紐約賭場在2011財政年的盈利貢獻，同時僅估計可在2012財政年貢獻6至8%，因此，一旦開跑，有望創造盈利驚喜。
僑豐上調雲頂大馬2012財政年盈利預測5.6%，但維持2011財測，主要是紐約賭場大部份盈利需至今年12月杪才帶來貢獻。
僑豐上修淨中獎預測至每日330美元，主要是紐約賭場地點適中，表現至少可媲美同儕帝國賭場（Empire City）。儘管美國經濟震盪，失業率也相對高，帝國賭場仍在首9個月，讓視頻角子機每日淨贏獎率寫下11.6%成長。
此外，傳言紐約賽馬賭場（Racino）業者商討讓賽馬賭場轉為全面的賭博業務，僑豐認為，若計劃落實，長期也對紐約名勝有利

大馬研究估計，紐約賭場佔雲頂大馬2011與2012財政年營運盈利各0.4與7.8%。
野村研究表示，即使紐約賭場可能展延開張，但因視頻角子機數量大，而上調雲頂大馬2011與2012財政年淨利，各4.5%與6.7%，至13億9千萬與15億7千800萬令吉。
“雲頂博彩業務過去表現穩健，除2003年沙斯（SARS）期間面臨遊客量急挫，2001與2008年經濟衰退時期都順利逃過一劫，歸功於國內客戶龐大的穩健屬性，因國內客戶在經濟低迷時傾向國內旅遊。”
僑豐研究也提到，市場盈利預測未反映紐約賭場在2011財政年的盈利貢獻，同時僅估計可在2012財政年貢獻6至8%，因此，一旦開跑，有望創造盈利驚喜。
僑豐上調雲頂大馬2012財政年盈利預測5.6%，但維持2011財測，主要是紐約賭場大部份盈利需至今年12月杪才帶來貢獻。
僑豐上修淨中獎預測至每日330美元，主要是紐約賭場地點適中，表現至少可媲美同儕帝國賭場（Empire City）。儘管美國經濟震盪，失業率也相對高，帝國賭場仍在首9個月，讓視頻角子機每日淨贏獎率寫下11.6%成長。
此外，傳言紐約賽馬賭場（Racino）業者商討讓賽馬賭場轉為全面的賭博業務，僑豐認為，若計劃落實，長期也對紐約名勝有利

On Friday afternoon, October 28, at 1 p.m., the face of New York racing will forever change.
The marriage of the New York Racing Association and a casino, after an agonizing 10-year courtship, will finally be consummated.
The doors to the Resorts World Casino New York City at Aqueduct Racetrack will officially open that day and a wave of customers will swarm into the sparkling, new facility. They’ll immediately begin pumping dollars, coins, swipe cards and perhaps even the lint in their pockets into 2,485 video slot machines called Video Lottery Terminals (VLT) and electronic table games in hopes of leaving with a small fortune.
For better or worse, a racetrack and a casino will become a coupled entry, with the fervent hope that the “better” part of the equation will become the norm.
Quite frankly, there’s no way things can get worse, and in many ways a casino can only help NYRA survive these difficult financial times.
What has happened at Yonkers Raceway since the opening of its Empire City Casino (they’re the casino with a talking horse, if you’ve seen the ads) figures to serve as a model for what will evovle with NYRA and Resorts World.
The casino will bring thousands, if not tens of thousands, of people to Aqueduct on a daily basis at all hours of the day. It will make money like Facebook, perhaps averaging a weekly win of about $7 million for the stakeholders to share. It will pour a treasure chest of cash into NYRA’s coffers and make purses as lucrative as you’ll find anywhere in the country.
NYRA will finally be able to put away the squeegies and the tin cups and pencils.
But don’t expect a big bump in the number of people who embrace the activities at the racetrack over the bells, buzzers and chimes of the casino.
Places like Yonkers have shown that a casino brings in money for a racetrack, but not fans for the Sport of Kings, and that’s hardly a stunning proclamation. Let’s face it. The average slot player is someone who just wants to drop money in a machine, then pull a handle or push a button and watch some wheels spin for 10 seconds while dreams of winning $1,000 or $10,000 float in and out of their head. Are these same people actually going to spend 15 minutes pouring over and analyzing past performances and speed figures to perhaps turn $2 into $4.80? I’m guessing no. It’s not logical, and judging by the growing number of tracks with casinos and the industry’s shrinking handle, it’s just not happening.
What generally occurs in these types of situations is that the horse crowd ventures over to the casino more than the casino crowd strays over to the racetrack.
Yet even if a casino cannot build a fan base, it can keep NYRA’s tracks afloat though a healthy and steady infusion of cash. Money may not solve every problem in life, but it certainly can do wonders to a company drowning in red ink like NYRA.
So in the end, while the casino figures to eventually become the dominant partner in the marriage, it’s an absolutely welcomed sight. It promises to be a first-class facility, with plenty of options for snacking, dinning, drinking and watching a performance or game, and it gives people one less reason to take their gambling dollars outside the city or state borders.
Saratoga might not need it, but having a casino at the other end of the plant gives a racing fan a new reason to drive to Ozone Park and visit the Big A. It really can’t hurt – right now, anyway.
So circle the date: Oct. 28. And if you’re thinking about a wedding present for the happy couple, a roll of quarters would be nice.

當地報章指出，上訴庭指立法者可在取得選民同意前，自行決定擴展博彩領域發展，可能為邁阿密3大賭場度假村掃除第一個屏障。
“相關判決可視為推動全球大型博彩公司前來邁阿密投資建設賭場度假村的先兆。”
據悉，2位立法委員已提呈同一計劃書，可能為3大賭場執照“選美會”鋪路，而每位競標者需投資最少20億令吉。
報導稱，新成立的佛州博彩委員會將對競標進行評估，並給予創造最多就業機會，以及最早竣功的計劃書額外分數，評分標準可能讓雲頂處於更好位置。有關議案可能在10月17日完成。
該長達90頁的議案將限制各度假村僅可將10%面積充作賭場用途，並要求賭場空間需與其他景點區隔開來，而博彩業務稅率料佔淨營業額的10%，較角子機的35%稅率為低。
雲頂在9月中旬公佈，造價30億美元（約96億令吉）的邁亞密名勝世界度假村大藍圖，預計在獲得賭博執照的前提下，工程可在3到5年內完成。
雲頂主席丹斯里林國泰早前表示，邁阿密名勝世界最快在2012年春天開幕，最早在2014年秋天竣工，工程料創造1萬5千個建築就業機會，以及3萬個長期就業機會。
